JOIN OUR BOARD

 

Llantarnam Grange is seeking two new trustees to join our board. We are looking for people who can bring their skills, experiences, and enthusiasm to guide our organisation as the regional arts centre for the visual arts and craft in south-east Wales. If you care passionately about our work with makers, artists, young people, our local community, and our wider audiences, and want to make a difference to the visual arts in Wales, we would love to hear from you.

 

We are particularly looking for people with experience of capital redevelopments, especially those with experience of sustainable buildings; people with retail /commercial operations experience; and people who are first language Welsh speakers or advanced Welsh learners and/or have experience of working bilingually.

VOLUNTEER – FRONT OF HOUSE

 

We are looking for a friendly person to help support our small team by providing voluntary front of house cover at Llantarnam Grange.

 

Ideally, we are looking for someone who is able to cover one morning or afternoon per week, with the potential to increase this over time and offer more flexibility if required.

 

Role:

 

–  Welcoming customers/visitors to the centre
–  Answer phone calls and taking messages/enquiries to pass on to relevant staff
–  Assisting customers with purchases from the shop
–  Processing payments through the till system
–  Pricing/displaying shop stock
–  Upkeep of the foyer/galleries/shop
–  Occasionally assisting staff with admin tasks

VOLUNTEER – GARDENING

 

We are looking for keen gardeners to help us to maintain and develop our front garden. This includes our raised beds that were installed last October.

 

Our vision is to complement our beautiful Victorian building with a colourful, insect and bird friendly garden to create a sense of peace and well-being that can be appreciated by gallery visitors, customers enjoying lunch from our Café, passers-by, and all our local pollinators!

 

Role:

 

– Maintain our front garden which includes raised beds as well as ground level planting. This will include picking weeds, seasonal planting, and litter picking.
– Help keep clear behind our building of weeds and overgrowth to provide safe access from our back door fire exit.
– Some gardening knowledge is desirable
