Through our different projects, exhibitions, and learning programme we offer a range of opportunities throughout the year, from open calls, commissions and creative workshops, to volunteering and positions within our team.

CALL FOR ART IN TORFAEN!

 

Llantarnam Grange warmly invites artists living in Torfaen to submit work for an open exhibition in our café to mark Cwmbran’s 75th anniversary. The exhibition will run from 18 May until 10 August 2024. There will be an exhibition opening on Saturday 18 May, 12-2pm. There is no admission fee, theme and or restrictions on age, ability, or experience.

 

ELIGIBILITY

 

– Artists must live in Torfaen
– Work must be 2D, no bigger than A3 (29.7cm x 42cm), and no deeper than 15cm
– Work must be able to be wall-mounted

 

TO SUBMIT YOU MUST:

 

– Read Guidelines
– Complete the submissions form
– Be able to drop off your work on Friday 3 or Saturday 4 May, between 9.30am – 3.30pm

VOLUNTEER – FRONT OF HOUSE

 

We are looking for a friendly person to help support our small team by providing voluntary front of house cover at Llantarnam Grange.

 

Ideally, we are looking for someone who is able to cover one morning or afternoon per week, with the potential to increase this over time and offer more flexibility if required.

 

Role:

 

–  Welcoming customers/visitors to the centre
–  Answer phone calls and taking messages/enquiries to pass on to relevant staff
–  Assisting customers with purchases from the shop
–  Processing payments through the till system
–  Pricing/displaying shop stock
–  Upkeep of the foyer/galleries/shop
–  Occasionally assisting staff with admin tasks

VOLUNTEER – GARDENING

 

We are looking for keen gardeners to help us to maintain and develop our front garden. This includes our raised beds that were installed last October.

 

Our vision is to complement our beautiful Victorian building with a colourful, insect and bird friendly garden to create a sense of peace and well-being that can be appreciated by gallery visitors, customers enjoying lunch from our Café, passers-by, and all our local pollinators!

 

Role:

 

– Maintain our front garden which includes raised beds as well as ground level planting. This will include picking weeds, seasonal planting, and litter picking.
– Help keep clear behind our building of weeds and overgrowth to provide safe access from our back door fire exit.
– Some gardening knowledge is desirable
