FILM SCREENING: THE BIRDS
16 FEBRUARY, 4PM
On Sunday 16 February Llantarnam Grange will be opening late for a one off screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic film The Birds in our main gallery.
This will begin with an introductory talk by award-winning horror and dark fantasy writer Tim Lebbon.
Originally released 1963, The Birds is believed to have taken inspiration from a number of stories that can be traced back to The Terror by Welsh horror writer Authur Machen.
Illustrations from a new edition of The Terror, by Jon Langford are currently on display in Gallery 2. This film screening is the last chance to see this work and buy a copy of the book.
Tim Lebbon wrote the introduction to this new edition, published by independent, Newport publishers Three Imposters. To introduce the screening, Tim will expand on how ideas can emerge simultaneously and shift overtime, as well as reflecting on how The Terror inspired his novel The Nature of Balance.
