ARTIST MEETS
1 JULY, 5-7PM
Our next Artist Meets session is on Tuesday 1 July, 5-7pm
This sessions will be led by our Marketing Officer, Sophie Lindsey, and will reflect on our current exhibition Agimat by Sadia Pinda Hameed. As one outcome of the large multi-partnered project Perspective(s), Sophie will share our experience of working with Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales, offering an insight into ways of working with large institutions.
This will be followed with sharing work as a group. We encourage you to bring examples of any work you would like to share and discuss, whether it is in progress, the final product, or an initial idea / sketch.
We recognise that sharing artwork with others can sometimes feel daunting. Artist Meets has been developed as supportive space that looks to build confidence, share ideas, and allow us to learn from one another.
Since starting in May 2023, Artist Meets has brought artists and maker together to share work, and offer support through talks on using social media, running workshops, approaching galleries, and thinking about the future of the arts in Cwmbran.
We will provide refreshments at each session.
Perspective(s) is a collaboration between Arts Council Wales and Amgueddfa Cymru – Museum Wales, supported by the Welsh Government.

Artist Meets will take a break in August 2025, and return at the same time on Tuesday 2 September.
Please note that our previously scheduled session Explore Materials and Ideas will now take place in the autumn.

Artist Meets is a chance to get together with other artists to create a supportive artistic community, develop skills and knowledge, and inspire you in your practice. These sessions are welcoming to all artists, no matter if you’re an armchair artist or creating art as your profession.
