Practice in Place

GALLERY 2
PRACTICE IN PLACE
24 AUGUST – 16 NOVEMBER

Practice in Place is a group exhibition that has been organised, curated, and spotlights work by our Youth Advisory Panel. It brings artwork from five artists at different early stages of their careers together, showcasing each of their unique practices and interests, from drawing, painting, ceramic, video and embroidery.

United by a sense of place, each artist explores different themes, including: Welsh landscape, folklore, identity, belonging, social history and culture, showcasing their dedication to their creative practice through meticulous skill development and experimentation.

Featuring work from: Elliot Powell, Emily Miles, Iris Murray, Niamh O’Dobhain and Rosie Merriman.

There will be an opening in the gallery on Saturday 24 August, 12-2pm, and the exhibition will run until the 16 November 2024.

YOUTH ADVISORY PANEL

The Youth Advisory Panel is a regular group that was formed in 2021 for young people aged 16-25 to gain understanding and experience of what it means to be working in the arts. They support Llantarnam Grange by advising on our programming, policies, procedures, making their voices a critical part of our governance. We work with them to develop a co-created programme of training and opportunities, from workshops, skills development or exhibitions.

If you are aged 16-25 and interested in joining our Youth Advisory Panel, find out more and apply here.
