WE ARE CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING APPLICATION PROPOSALS

Exhibition Proposals: How to Apply

We want to make our exhibition application and selection process clear and simple so that artists, makers, collectives and curators can approach us with ideas and have the opportunity to be part of our Exhibitions Programme.

Exhibition Spaces

Llantarnam Grange has four exhibition spaces. We exhibit approximately 4 exhibitions per year in each space, which run for 10-12 weeks. All gallery spaces are synchronised, running for the same duration with shared Opening Events to launch all new exhibitions on the same day.

Our Opening Events take place on the first Saturday of the exhibition between 12-2pm. We offer programme artist talks or relevant workshops alongside our openings and during the exhibitions.

Gallery 1 focuses on emerging and established artists. It is our biggest gallery and we recommend this space for artists with fully formed bodies of work and group/collective exhibitions.

Gallery 2 is a community art space and gallery in one; most of the work shown in this space must be wall-based, as the space can be used by the public at any time and is sometimes used for engagement sessions and other events.

The gallery in our Café is a busy hub visited by most visitors to the centre, and it is small yet increasingly positive for commercial exposure. Work proposed for this space must be wall-based.

The Foyer Gallery is sometimes used for graduate/student showcases and is often a continuation of our Craft Shop space. Perfect for smaller showcases of cabinet and wall-based work.

External Projects

We commission artists through specific project grants to create work for our Billboard Gallery. If you think your work could be suitable, then we welcome conversations and proposals.

We also welcome collaborations outside of our building, in public spaces, or other venues. Please get in touch with us directly to discuss ideas for external projects.

We also offer opportunities to stock work in our Craft Shop. If you would like more information, please email our Exhibitions Officer savanna.dumelow@llantarnamgrange.com
