HIDDEN WOMEN UNTOLD STORIES – PRITH B
13 JUNE – 29 AUGUST
Hidden Women Untold Stories is an exhibition of portraits by artist Prith B that came out of a series of community workshops. It shines a light on the voices and experiences of women, all mothers, from diverse cultural communities.
The project began with a question, ‘Do you want to share your story?’ This marked the beginning of a journey into the lives of seven incredible women who Prith had never met before, each with their own untold story, strength, and spirit. Having built trust and relationships through the workshops, they were invited to share their stories and have their portrait painted. Each portrait was created through close collaboration between artist and the sitter, ensuring that every woman had a say in how they wanted to be represented.
Hidden Women, Untold Stories invites viewers into the lives of these women, who generously share what matters most to them and the significant moments that have shaped them into the amazing people they are today.
There will be an opening in the gallery on Saturday 13 June, 12-2pm, and the exhibition will run until the 29 August 2026
This project was in collaboration with Women’s Advocacy Network, Women Connect First, Oasis and Grange Pavilion. It was funded by Arts Council Wales

BIOGRAPHY
Prith B is a feminist artist living and working in Cardiff. Her wider body of work includes large-scale abstract paintings and landscapes, but over the past four years her practice has increasingly focused on female portraiture, particularly portraits of women of colour. At the heart of her work are questions of equality, visibility, and representation-who is seen, how they are seen, and who gets to decide.
